Harsh truth:
The days of just swiping right and not paying Tinder, Hinge, or Bumble a dime while it feeds you matches are gone.
These days are like 6-7 years gone.
Unless the algorithm finds you super attractive for some reason…
You’re best off paying the most you can afford for dating apps.
Few reasons:
1) You’ll be front of the queue
Girls will see your profile first.
Instead of the algorithm burying you 10-20 swipes in as a free user, now you’ll be one of the first 5 men women see.
More exposure = higher chance of her matching
2) Seeing hotter women
The algorithm favors members who get a lot of right swipes.
But the thing is, as a man, if you’re not paying for the algorithm you get pushed back, so you don’t get a lot of opportunities to get swiped right on…
Meaning the algorithm shows you an equal type of girl.
A.k.a girls who don’t get a lot of right swipes.
When you pay, however, the algorithm automatically ranks you higher so it shows you at least the equivalent girl of you ranking-wise.
Thus the hotter women you can now match with.
3) Profile matters less
A disclaimer first:
Photos matter most on dating apps.
The better photos you have, the more matches you’ll get.
With that said if your photos aren’t optimized yet and you pay for the app…
You’ll STILL get more matches because the algorithm will show you to more women and statistically speaking you’ll give yourself higher odds for more matches.
Now if you pay for the apps and DON’T see an increase in matches…
Then your profile is the problem.
That’s how you’ll know for certain you need better photos.
When you don’t pay for the apps you can have the best photos but with the algorithm not favoring you it doesn’t matter.
So…
Pay for the apps.
Tinder & Hinge are best.
Some men like Bumble, too, but I never really had big success with it.
